POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Executive Vice-President of Operations, we have an excellent career opportunity for a Senior Accountant with Sunderlage Resource Group, part of the Hess and Maven Group of Companies.
Requirements
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Duties include financial and managerial reporting. Incumbent will be responsible for preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, fiscal year-end reporting and consolidation process, assemble financial data, perform financial analysis and solutions to support business planning and decision making processes that ensure profitability of the Group of Companies businesses. Strong GAAP experience is required. Must have previous experience preparing balance sheets, income statements and be able to analyze statements for accuracy. Additional responsibilities include preparing journal entries, managing financial projects and responsible for client based accounting.
REQUIREMENTS:
Broad experience with financial systems. This individual must be very proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros), Power Point and Word.
Must have working knowledge of balance sheet, income sheet, cash flow and working capital analysis. Coordination of the monthly general ledger close process. Must be able to analyze financial results and assess financial/strategic impacts of business decisions. Demonstrated ability to think strategically in terms of the total business products and processes.
Development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Maintaining an effective intercompany balancing process. Review and/or compile key account reconciliations/analysis.
Attention to detail with strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task in a deadline-orientated environment. Experience in planning, coordinating and executing multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and with all levels of staff exercising strong judgment and decision making.
Ability to communicate complex analysis and conclusions/recommendations in a concise, easily understandable manner. Must be able to convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused and concise manner.
The candidate should also have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player in varied capacities.
Experience in managing strategic external vendors and partners.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
10+ years accounting experience, Financial/Management reporting. Insurance and/or financial products experience highly desired.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
BS/BA in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA is preferred.
