Mechanical Process Engineer
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the mechanical design activities of product line(s)
• Establish engineering specifications for all mechanical system components
• Work with Product Development and R&D to verify and test proposed designs
• Recognize and implement product and process improvements
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials(BOM’s)
• Create/work with P&IDs and PFDs
Requirements:
• Must be a project driven and energetic professional
• Degreed Mechanical Engineer
• 4+ yrs experience
• Experience with industrial burners / fans / heavy sheet metal and rotating equipment
• HVAC experience is desirable
• Experience creating 3D CAD models and fabrication drawings
• Experience in FEA and/or computational fluid dynamics
• Ability to travel during peak season or as needed
Perform bridge inspection, evaluation, and design or repair of new bridges.
Perform or supervise above and underwater inspection of bridges and waterfront structures.
Serve as a senior project manager or senior project engineer on complex projects and as a designated client contact.
Prepare and monitor project budgets.
Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
Train staff with structural design and analysis.
Assists with the preparation of Statements of Qualifications and Engineering Services proposals.
Responsible for assisting proposal preparation, estimating project costs, contract negotiation, project quality, and project profitability.
Be available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
Be active in technical societies such as ACEC and local engineering organizations.
Assist in ensuring that external client focus is top priority of the region, ensure systems, processes and activities that focus on the client at all levels of the region are implemented.
Responsible for assisting in the identification and cultivation of new business and clients.
Assist in preparation of an annual comprehensive marketing plan addressing both short term and long term marketing goals.
Requirements:
Licensed Structural Engineer in the State of Illinois; additional licenses in surrounding states desirable
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois; additional licenses in surrounding states desirable
BS or MS degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Minimum of 10 years experience or the equivalent thereof
Experience with highway bridge design, preferably for the Illinois Department of Transportation or the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority
Must be familiar with IDOT policies and procedures
Must have a strong background in the preparation of contract plans and specifications
Working knowledge of Microstation, Geopak, LRFD bridge design, bridge hydraulics
NBIS inspection certification a plus
