I have a 7 month old kitten that is microchipped, fully vetted with all her shots, leukemia/fiv negative and vaccinated for it. Dewormings complete and rabies shots. Spayed. She doesn't need any more for another year. She comes with a little box, collar and she is on a wellness program with Banfield Pet Hospital which is found inside Petsmart. I am asking for a rehoming fee of $150 to pay for all her shots, and leukemia testing as well as her spay and microchip. I also ask that whoever adopts Mittens also takes on her wellness program (email for more details). She is truly the best kitten ever. She is very calm and she lets my 3 year old do whatever she wants to her. She is trained to scratch only on a post and doesn't scratch anywhere besides the post. I rescue and adopt chinchillas and try to find homes for them!
This week week we have a standard male with TOV (touch of velvet) fur. He is a high quality chin with good genetics, VERY friendly and with enough patience and love will bond strongly with you. Has been hand trained and is very accustomed to human interaction. So this chinchilla needs to be in a home were he will get a lot of attention and exercise!! Super loving and gentle. NO medical issues currently or in the past, he is healthy. Remember chinchillas can live up to 25 years so be prepared for the commitment that it takes. If there is ever a problem down the road, even years later I will take the chinchilla back, no hesitation or judgments. I just want to give people the option because life things come up and sometimes the animal needs a new home.
Chinchillas are the greatest little animals and make wonderful companions with lots of love, care, and patience.

If you have a Chinchilla that you can no longer care for please contact me and I should be able to take care of it. I receive chins from all sorts of people who cannot care for them anymore or from breeders that have been shut down and help to rehabilitate them and find new homes, I do it out of love for this species.

I am NOT a breeder. I don't sell baby Chinchillas.

1: I ONLY ADOPT TO SERIOUS ADOPTERS.

If you want to adopt from me you must read all of the information here and be fully informed about the care that chinchillas need. If you cannot show that you are serious about properly caring for the chinchillas I will not give you a chinchilla.

I will no longer adopt to people who show up with no knowledge of how to care for chinchillas. I do not profit and I want these animals to go to loving homes.

If the adoption doesn't work out you are welcome to bring the chin back to me at any time.

2: YOU MUST BRING A CARRIER WITH YOU

A carrier is important to be able to bring a chinchilla from place to place. Cardboard boxes aren't acceptable. A proper carrying cage is essential.

3: A SAFE HOME MUST BE PROVIDED FOR

Chinchillas are not like dogs or cats where you can just adopt them without knowing anything about the animal.

In summer weather you must have air conditioning in your car and a cool home. Chinchillas have extremely dense fur and if they get too hot they can die of heat stroke. Keeping these animals cool is essential to their well being.

In winter weather you must keep them warm and not leave them in a cold place like a garage or outside because they WILL freeze to death.

Please be aware of the changes you need to make depending on the seasons & climate.

4: CHINCHILLAS HAVE A SPECIAL DIET AND CAGE REQUIREMENTS

Chinchillas must have a large enough cage to properly support them. A chinchilla in a small cage will be unhappy and will not thrive.

Chinchillas must have special dust baths in order to clean their fur.

Chinchillas must have a special premium quality food and treats and chews to live long healthy lives.

5: CHINCHILLAS ARE NOT LIKE DOGS AND CATS

They are spirited little animals that cannot be broken and house trained as easily as a regular pet. They have extremely long memories so if you mistreat them it will be hard to gain their trust again, but if you treat them with respect, they will love you for a lifetime!

6: THERE IS AN ADOPTION FEE OF $70

This is a re-homing fee so you will get some supplies for your chinchilla. I will provide some food, dust, wood chews, and treats to start the chinchilla off at his new home!

7: PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS

You don't have to be a chinchilla expert to adopt from me, but you DO have to be dedicated to learning about how to care for your new pet. I am happy to answer any questions about how to take care of these wonderful companions. I will also be happy to remain in contact with you if you need more information about chinchilla care after you have brought your little friend home.

Gilbert is a cool dog. He is housebroken, does well with most other dogs, is very

ALF, Chow Mix, Male, 2 years old
Okay...not the most flattering of pictures...but Alf really is a cute guy! Alf was found
locally as a stray and was not claimed. We know that Alf is a Chow mix and kind of a
goof! He loves people and if you let him, thinks he is a lap dog! Alf is picky about the
other dogs he does like, but for the most part gets along with most of them. Alf is full
of energy and loves to play. He will need a family who is active and can let him burn
off his energy. He would most likely do best in a home with a fenced in yard.

DAKOTA, Catahoula Mix, Male, 4 years old. From Dakota's foster parent: "Dakota is
crate trained, but I am not sure he needs to be in a crate while I am not home. But with
the other dogs in the house, it is best for everyone's safety. He likes to play with the
other dogs in the back yard and loves walks. While not living with kids, he seems to
really like the neighborhood kids. However, due to him being large and not always
staying down like he should, he might do best in a home with kids over 5/6 depending
on their sizes. Training: he could use some more manners, but over all he is not too
much trouble. He needs to learn to stay off counters and people. On a leash he does
not tend to pull much unless he sees a rabbit, bird, etc. Then watch out. However, I
am thinking with a few training classes this could be fixed. Other animals: was told by
the shelter he does not like cats. I am also thinking rabbits would not be a good idea
either, as he has tried very hard to get the ones in the yard but is very slow compared
to them. I have a feeling once you see the big guy you will fall in love. He is very sweet
and only seems to want to please others."

Hi Everyone! My name is Annie and I know I don't look like a Bichon in my
picture, but I am. My fur was matted and it had to be shaved off. It's ok 'cuz
Foster Mom says I'm still cute, shaved and all, and hey, my fur will come back!
So in the meantime, she's keeping me all nice and cozy in a sweater. I would
do great in a nice, quiet home with someone who will have patience with me
and teach me that not all people are bad. Small kids would scare me too much

PLEASE HELP PEACHES FIND HIS WAY HOME!! Peaches is a 15 year old male cockatiel bird lost in the vicinity of Forest Drive in Elgin, Illinois. He accidently flew out the door of my residence on the afternoon of 06/13/09 and may have traveled beyond the immediate area, perhaps hundreds of miles away at this point. I also have truck loading docks on the street behind my home so he may have 'hitched' a ride and he may have ended up almost ANYWHERE. His name is Peaches, but he also responds to Pete and Peetie. He has a yellow head and crest with some grey around his beak. He also has orange cheeks. His wings are dark grey with some patches of white and his wings are white tipped. His tail feathers are white, grey and yellow. Peaches has always been very friendly, even with strangers. He loves to sing and he says 'Pretty Birdie' to the best of his ability. These two had been all set to be adopted, but it fell through, so they are up for adoption again!!!

Back at the end of September, a cat was spotted carrying something white in her mouth. Upon closer examination, it was found that she was carrying a gorgeous little white kitten! Once this little kitten was rescued, her three sisters were found a short time later in a nearby doghouse! They were only about three weeks old, and once their mother was caught, the five of them were rescued.

Lucie (white w/grey on her head) and Bella (black w/white chest tuft) are now a little over three months old, and are ready to be adopted. Last week, on December 18th, they received all of their vet work-spayings, distemper boosters, (they had already received their initial distemper vaccinations), tested negative for FIV/FELV, and were microchipped! Lucie also received her rabies vaccination, but Bella will have to return in a few weeks to a vet to receive her rabies vaccination as she was too small. They have also been dewormed multiple times.

These sisters are very cute and play well with one another. They are snuggly and while they are a bit on the shy side at first, once they hear a voice, they are nosy and try their hardest to get some attention while at the same time, purring up a storm. Lucie and Bella will only be adopted as a pair.

There are so many pit bulls that are sweet natured that never get the chance to be pulled by either a rescue or adopter because of their location. If any animal found gets sick at the pound (they get killed). If any animal gets too scared or doesnt eat, they get killed. Often they are just held by law just 4 to 5 days. They get an extra week if there is space -- but they dont get 3 or 4 weeks unless a volunteer takes them home only to give them the time because they are special. Because of the incoming dogs -- many dogs die needlessly.
These are not shelters, they are really killing facilities. Their only HOPE is for a rescue to pull them out before their euthanasia date.
If you see a dog on the www.dogsindanger.com site, contact your local rescue or Humane Society and offer to foster the dog if they will pull the dog.
Maybe it will work out and you will fall in love with the dog and keep or maybe you will love the experience to become a foster home for a dog who deserves a chance even for the short term. But you will both win.

Rescued Urgent Am Staff (from high kill shelter in Evansville, IN )

I just wanted to remind everyone of the dogs in need of rescue. And what life they have to offer.

I responded to a posting for an urgent Am Staff.

I spoke to a woman who had a female dog that was pulled from a high kill shelter.

She said the dog was very social, good with kids and other pets. She said that the director of the rescue said she was a good dog, and if she says that - its a good dog.

I adopted her on Saturday.

Hope met me & her new brother Kyzer.

Hope is sweet, calm, affectionate, obedient and beatuiful.

Hope is also housebroke and well trained.

Hope also has 3 kids to love now, and a new loving home.

Who woulda thought such a lover would be on death roe at a high kill shelter with no owner to pick her up? And she has had puppies recently too. On the way to meet us, Hope rode in a cage with a beagle and licked and cleaned her the whole time .

Im glad Hope ran into caring people who ultimately placed her into her new home.

Remember High kills dont put them all down for aggression, but because they are maxed out and full.

Save a life :) If you can.

I recently found a dark gray male kitten which seems to be around 8 months and it is in need of a great home. He is a sweetheart from what ive seen. Not shy at all which you would expect from a outside cat. I have 3 other cats and he gets along with all them, hes also fine with dogs and not frightned by them. I have a custom oak reptile enclosure. Has a locked door, wide enough for you to get in and out of. Lots of real wood branches for climbing. Would be ideal for a snake, any size or a reptile/animal that climbs. The enclosure is two parts. Top part holds the reptile, the bottom part is for storage. Sturdy screws hold it together nicely. Top of enclosure is covered with mesh and then has a metal grate that is screwed on top of that. Can place heat lamp on top. The floor of the reptile enclosure pulls out for easy cleaning if u don't want to use bedding. Will need truck or van to pick up. Asking $225/OBO. Email me if interested.

Mango is a 2 year old sun conure. This little bird (gender unknown...best guess is male) is incredibly sweet, friendly, and tame. He gives kisses and loves to cuddle against your neck. In the morning Mango scurries down the perch and jumps on me...so cute!
I'm placing him for adoption because of my cat. Unfortunately, he won't leave Mango alone. My other bird is much bigger than Mango so the cat leaves her alone.
His adoption fee is $300.00 (cage not included).

GUINEA PIG(S) for Rehoming

3 sweet, loving, adorable female Guinea Pigs, need a good, loving home to go to. They will be 3 months old on the 30th. When we got mama and papa, we were not expecting to have babies.
I wish we could keep all of them, but we don't have the room or the means to keep up with 6 of them.

All 3 are white 1 has gray markings on her eyes, 1 has dark brown around each eye and 1 is completely white

A rehoming fee of $20 each, or $35 for 2 or if you are able to give a loving home to all 3 $50

They have not been spayed. Sorry, no cage provided. We do not have them in a regular pet store cage, don't like those, not enough room for one, much less six. We made
a c&c cage for them so they have room to run around.

We would like them to have a new home asap, the longer we have them the harder it is to let them go. We have not named them, would make it impossible to let them go.

I am looking to adopt a small bird, such as a parakeet or lovebird etc... I want to start teaching my daughter all about animals and responsibility. I want to start with a small pet first, and then adopt other animals as she gets older and more experienced with them. Plus, It would be nice to have a pet to love :)
