AIM Consulting is looking to hire a Mainframe support analyst in the Northwest Suburbs. This position will be starting immediately and please apply to Andrew Hulbert at ahulbert@analystsinmotion.com
Responsibilities:
- Handle cleanup when deletion forms are submitted by Application Teams.
- Manage projects that come into the group related to DASD management.
- Work with our Application Teams to ensure proper cleanup.
- Reclaim DASD as required.
- Monitor to provide adequate free space in all pools working with Systems Programming group.
- Move volumes or datasets as required ensuring optimal placement.
- Restores for our user community. Handle MVS, Panvalet, and VM restores for datasets from
operational and/or DR backups. Perform tasks required to provide data to requester.
- Put together reports for the business
- Ensure all processes are accurately documented and maintained.
- Ensure all problems related to responsibilities are being followed up on in a timely manner.
- Work with Team Lead to identify on going improvements to better support the business.
- Work with other IT areas to resolve DASD needs in a timely manner.
- Recommend improvements for all DASD tasks
- Automate processes where possible to make more efficient.
Hands-on mainframe DASD Management and tape management.
Hands-on exposure in Z/OS Environment, utilizing the Open Tech tool (
http://www.opentechsystems.com/)
Knowledge of SMS, ISPF, Z/VM, TMS, TSO, JCL and IBM Utilities.
Hands on experience of FDR.
