If one of your neighbors became ill you would go visit for a while every so often.
You might sit and play cards, read the paper, reminisce about the old days, watch a favorite TV show. You would not spend a lot of time discussing the person's illness and would not get involved with any medical care.
Volunteering for hospice is the same as visiting a neighbor: talking, sharing, listening, discussing a book you both read. Spending time with a hospice patient means so much to that person. Spending days without many visitors is a tough thing to do. When a volunteer visits, it brightens up their day.

I asked for help with rent only got assisted once and that was once for under $200 about 5 months ago. And 2 gas cards. Where do you go if you have illnesses? I have seen people who are not from here getting all types of assistance. Called them all? Why is this like this? I have another friend who has lupus the friend did not want to deal they located someone who had compassion to help them, there is another very young girl who has MS no medical card is available via Public Aid and she can not get food stamps. Other man who had a brain tumor who is homeless who was a executive if he is still alive he was wandering the streets because he lost his home.

Again there are more services for others from outside the US and it's xmas I know there are less people giving because of the ecomony but GOD there is nothing for the disabled. I was so sick at one point I called to get a home health care provider and I was told I was not sick enough tho I can not walk at that time and I was on a walker pain could not sleep nor could I get around. During that time in the winter I crawled outside daily attempting to get food and medication and or make medical appointments because if this my health got even worse.

Please note that you can work all of your life, get sick have your companies filed bankruptcy reform to something else and loss your retirement money and you have nothing!
