I have a love-hate relationship with job boards. I love the idea that maybe *TODAY* will be the day I find what I am looking for. I hate the fact that it's rarely ever true. I scour and I search day in and day out until I feel as if my eyes are going to bleed. Why? Because maybe just maybe a job that isn't either a scam or out of my league will have been posted! Right? (insert eyeroll here).

I started my job search sometime around late July. I had been a stay at home mom for about a year. I craved the independence that came with earning my own paycheck. Being able to earn my own money and provide for my children again sounded just about awesome. That craving turned into an all out hunger this past October when I suddenly found myself single, unemployed and desperate.

So here I sit, again, searching every avenue I know to find something. In the hopes that *maybe* one of the numerous places I applied for will call me back. I mean can you at least call and say something like "you suck, give up." so I can at least save my dignity and NOT follow up. (Ugh embarrassing).

I question my worth in the job market every single day. Why don't I have a job? I'm smart, a whiz on a computer, reliable, hard working, dedicated, educated, friendly, ok stop me now! Recently, when going to pay a utility bill, I noticed...why did this fossil behind the front desk have a job? WHY?! She was typing with 2 fingers about as slow as can be. She was rude, cold and NOT professional in anyway. Part of me wanted to excuse her from the desk and sit down and take her job. I didn't feel like getting a free ride in a cop car that day so I resisted.

So my job search will continue. In hopes that one day someone will give me a chance to show them what I am capable of. In recent times I've become pretty hopeless but I suppose disappointment is the name of the game right?I want to work, I need to work, I LOVE to work.

So to you job seekers, as frustrated as me, good luck on your journey. May you find something before you go mad!

Role: Research Assistant

Responsibilities:

* I modeled a straight tube geometry using Autocad, Pro-E, Solidworks, Ansys ICEM CFD tools.
* Used the above model in getting computational results for pulsatile laminar flow and the results where compared with the results published in �Physics of pulsatile flow�.
* Steady flow in a straight tube taking Fluid Structure Interaction(FSI) into account observed the wall displacement and compared the results with �Stokes flow in collapsible tubes by Matthias Heil�,which are in agreement.
* I also created a bifurcating 3D lung model upto 3 generations (using Autocad, Pro-E, Solidworks and ANSYS ICEM CFD).
* Worked with the bifurcating lung model to analyze the pulsatile flow with fluid structure interaction effect.
* Increasing the frequency of oscillations and observing the flow patterns and the air flow in case of different percent(%) stenosis.
* For all the above projects Ansys CFX is used to obtain the results.

PROJECTS

* Design of high pressure apparatus that can compress DNA to 3GPa: Designing a piston-cylinder device and calculating the stresses induced in the devices for a given material.
* Analysis of chassis frame of a Jeep using Finite Element method (Ansys software): Designing the chassis frame in Autocad, Pro-E, Solidworks and analysis of the frame with the operating loads or other design performance conditions and thus optimizing the design based on the physical response.
* Material properties and failure phenomena: The properties characterizing the behavior of a linear, elastic structural element and what conditions lead to failure of materials where studied in detail for various situations.
* Optimizing and testing the solution for a given manufacturing data using Crystal ball.
* Designing nanotubes (nano devices) for medical application. Selecting materials, manufacturing process and testing them.

Papers Published in Workshop Manuals:

* Magnetic refrigeration: The objective is to determine the feasibility of designing, fabricating and testing a sensor cooler, which uses solid materials as the refrigerant. These materials demonstrate the unique property known as the magneto caloric effect, which means that they increase and decrease in temperature when magnetized/demagnetized.
* Nanogears :This paper gives an introduction to carbon nanotubes ,nanogears and the synthesis of nanogears using CNT and benzene.
* Jatropha oil as an alternate fuel in I.C engines: Jatropha as a bio-diesel can be used in any diesel engine when mixed with mineral diesel without any engine modifications. It is much cleaner than fossil fuel diesel.
