POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Marketing promotions agency, is seeking a strong, flexible database analyst and systems support staff member. This is an entry- to mid-level role.

This position requires that the individual design, test and implement reports of marketing and campaign based on user requirements, with the goal of creating re-usable reports as often as possible. Format and import data from external sources into database and extract data for use by external agencies (e-mail marketing mailing lists, etc). Requires ability to design, write, test, and debug complex queries and database stored procedures to extract, calculate or manipulate marketing promotions data. Maintain quality of company data store, cleaning duplicate records, correcting legacy user errors in data, etc.

In addition, as this is a small firm, the role requires providing systems (desktop, application and network) support.

Position requires a high level of communications skills and business acumen, in addition to very strong hands-on skills with SQL, a broad range of technical areas as needed. Analyst must be able to work directly with users to quickly and accurately understand and implement their reporting needs. Must be comfortable with guiding users to adhere to standards, process and existing tools and able to be flexible in accommodating legitimate needs which may go beyond those boundaries. Advertising and marketing agency experience is extremely helpful.

In addition, must administer databases (MySQL and SQL Server) to maintain optimal performance and stability. Support IT Manager with web-based development, integrating back-end database code with business applications and network/desktop support as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Database
• Primarily responsible for the design, development and maintenance of reports for users, both regular and custom designed.

Ninth Dimension Studios™, established in 2009, is an independent video game development and animation studio based out of the Chicagoland area. This studio offers a distinctive point of view and an innovative aesthetic to the world of video game entertainment. Our technologically advanced development workshop, including a full body optical motion capture system, allows for the creation of truly advanced gaming products; a difficult task for many small studios.

We are currently seeking a Lead Programmer to join our in-house team, as the studio’s first title is developed over the next six to eight months. The game in question will ultimately be released on multiple platforms; however the iPhone/iPod Touch & PC will be the initial focuses. This title will be in the fighting style genre with online multiplayer and WiFi capabilities; further game concepts and details will be shared with prospective candidates only. As Lead Programmer, you will be joining a small, but well equipped studio, both in terms of talent and facilities. As a part of our team you will have access to all of the necessary hardware and software needed to create gaming products of the highest quality.
