Norman Rockwell's wonderful print "Bottom of the Ninth" appeared as a cover for The Saturday Evening Post, September 4, 1948. This print is in a standard-sized format that can easily be framed or matted.
* Image Size: 9 1/2" by 9 3/4"
* Paper Size: 11" by 14" (easily fits a standard size frame)

I'm actually located in Westchester, New York, but thought this print would have more appeal in the Chicago area. I mail books and ephemera frequently (with free Delivery Confirmation) and can ship this to you protected with cardboard and marked "Do Not Bend or Fold." $7 for the print, plus $3 for shipping, for a total of $10.

Sorry about the lighting. It's brighter and more like the second picture here. Slightly too large for the scanner and my photo abilities are rather limited. Here's some information on Rockwell and The Saturday Evening Post covers he's so often associated with . . .

"Norman Rockwell is synonymous with mid-century small-town family life across America. Although Rockwell's images are endearing and nostalgic, they were frequently criticized by his peers, and many refused to call him an artist -- instead choosing the label 'illustrator.' But as he matured, so did his art, and before he died in 1978, he was commissioned to paint portraits of Presidents Eisenhower, Nixon, Kennedy, and Johnson. Some of his works also captured landmark moments in America's history, such as World War II and the Civil Rights Movement. Throughout his lifetime, Rockwell produced over 4000 original works, and he is best known for his 321 captivating covers for The Saturday Evening Post magazine.

As a young illustrator, Norman Rockwell had a secret ambition-- to have his work appear on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post. 'In those days the cover of the Post was the greatest show window in America,' he later remarked. Indeed, at the start of Rockwell's career, the magazine (first published in 1729) was then reaching an audience of 2 million readers who were entertained and informed with articles by the leading names in literature and artwork from the brightest stars in illustration.

Rockwell was following in the footsteps of his heroes, such as illustrator J.C. Leyendecker, when he landed his first Post cover in 1916 at age 22. Thus began a relationship that would last for 47 years, during which time Rockwell produced an astounding 322 cover illustrations for the Post. Many Americans who experienced the rapid growth and change of the 20th century view the Rockwell covers as familiar representations of their lives.
