Hi. My name is Melissa. I am an elementary education major at the University of St. Francis. Right now I work at a daycare part-time, but as of August, my school schedule will no longer allow me to work during the day, and as a result, I will have to quit my daycare job. That is why I am wondering if there are any families out there looking for evening or weekend care for their child.

This would be perfect for the parent who works evenings/weekend days. Daycares can be great, but only for the parents who work 9-5 jobs as most of them are closed on the weekends and only open until 6 M-F.

Basically what I am looking for is a parent who needs a sitter a few days a week for a total of about 20 guaranteed hours each week. I do not yet know the exact details of my school schedule, but from what I see, I will be available M-F after 4:15pm and then during the days on Saturday and Sunday. Ideally, I would like a family that would need be me:
A) 3 evenings a week for 6-7 hours
OR
B) 2 evenings during the week for 6-7 hours and then a Saturday or Sunday during the day (I am available on weekends until 3ish)

Obviously, this could be altered slightly based on your needs, but I just want to make sure that I get 20 hours/week (so that I can pay my bills) and then also that I don't work more than 4 days/week as I will need time for my homework. Also, because I would be off on the holidays I would not require you to provide me with the full 20 hours for those weeks. (New Years Eve/Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after, Christmas Eve/Day)

I have worked with children in various contexts for a number of years and recently completed a nanny job with a family in Atherton, California. I have experience working with both infants and toddlers, as well as older children, and truly love working in the childcare field. I especially enjoy taking children to the park, reading, making art, and playing outside. I'm CPR certified and have training in nutrition.

I will be available starting in late August and am interested in working approximately three days per week (and perhaps some evenings on those days I do not work). I would ideally like to work for a family that lives within walking distance of the UofC campus and that would be willing to work with me concerning my class schedule.
