*Answers all incoming calls and directs them to the appropriate person/department or dealer
*Maintains daily logs, reports and other documents
*Monitors systems for fire alarms, burglary alarms, panic alarms, etc...
*Interprets electronic alarm signals and dispatches authorities/key holders to respond to the activated alarms as needed.

*Maintenance and support of Central Station equipment

General Summary:
Administrative Coordinator for Biosafety and Security: Manage the daily administrative, operational, and security functions of the Howard Taylor Ricketts Laboratory (HTRL) at Argonne. Serve as the main security officer for the Howard T. Ricketts Laboratory. Operate the security system at the HTRL and assist with implementation of security operating procedures relating to building security and visitor access. Serve as initial point of contact for the HTRL. Assist in obtaining visitor passes for Department of Microbiology/GLRCE guests. Interface with Argonne National Laboratory organizations, as necessary, to implement security procedures. Assess and manage the equipment needs; identify and forecast areas needing improvement and initiate solutions; provide front-line support (the "go to" person), serve the various needs of many individuals and ensure the overall operational functions of the administrative office run smoothly. Provide administrative support to the Director of the HTRL and the Associate Dean for Biosafety.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software is required; knowledge of computerized purchasing and accounting programs preferred; strong cooperative, interpersonal and communication skills required; good analytical capabilities required; strong verbal and written communication skills in English required; ability to identify priorities, recognize and resolve or refer problems and work effectively with supervision and as part of a team required; proven ability to maintain several projects concurrently, while prioritizing tasks and resolving problems required; ability to take initiative, meet deadlines and work under pressure required. The individual must be able to pass the University's security risk assessment program associated with access to select agents. A cover letter and resume are required to be considered for this position.
Qualified candidates for this position must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, be professional in appearance, have good communication skills, and be able to pass an extensive background check and drug testing. Some positions may require a valid driver’s license and some computer skills.
These positions offers a competitive hourly wage of up to $10/hr to start, paid training, and benefits. Uniforms are provided.
