So, like the title says, I'm a single lesbian and I want to start playing ball more so I figured I'd post here to try and start up at least the female side of a coed team. I also posted in the general activities section so we'll see who comes out for the team:)

The league games are played at McGrath Arena (2323 N Sheffield) which is on DePaul's campus, barely a block from the Fullerton (Red/Brown/Purple) stop. Monday nights between 7:30 and 9:30. We will have 8 games garunteed which includes 7 regular season games and 1 play off game, with more games if we really bring it on the court, of course. The league provides numbered shirts for 10 players and prizes for the best team in the league. Each game consists of two 20 minute halves, 2 referees, and 2 women/3 men on the court policy at all times.

The fee is 899$ per team. Which works out to 90$ per person, if we have 10 players. I'm also looking to get us a team sponsor so we can grab a drink after games and get a discount on the fee. There are tons of bars in the area some of which do team sponsorships regularly (McGees, Grand Central, Clarks, Hi Tops, Lincoln Station, Irish Eyes etc.)

As for myself, Im a little rusty but I'm looking to get back on the court, and meet new people since I just moved to Chicago. I dont really care how good you are, but I wont complain if you averaged like 50 points when you played for your D1 team just last year, since I am mildly competitive haha.

Lately what I've been looking for in a woman has changed dramatically from a few months ago and not due to a recent relationship either.

Why must someone be dominate and someone be subordinate? Are we trying to imitate the stereotypical straight couple, I understand that for some that just works, but to me that is something I do not want and get so sick of seeing. Why do people say they are sick of men and hate them and they are all scumbags? It's such a close minded thing to say in my mind, it's stereotyping someone based on an aspect of them, in this case gender. Sure I'll admit there's few straight guys I would ever consider being friends with, but thats because I don't want to be viewed in a sexual light by a friend, and most straight guys associate lesbian to a sexual fantasy of theirs. I give everyone a fair chance, life is too short to go around making judgments of people based on stereotypes. Yes, some people are assholes, but believe me there's plenty of women who are assholes too, it's not confined to men.

Lastly
There seem to be few women who are at an in between weight, usually it's either skinny or very large, and I'm not saying there's is anything wrong with either, but for me I am attracted to somewhere in between and I also am at an in between weight. I don't consider myself fat, but I'm not skinny, I am comfortable at the weight I'm at, and I'm healthy at the weight I'm at. I just wish there were more people somewhere in the middle.
