This colorful, 1961, six volume, complete, Golden Book set is illustrated with over 3,000 pictures in full-color and contains over 100,000 words. Parents are able with one's child to enjoy just thumbing through the dictionary, recognizing and naming the pictures, reading definitions, and learning many, new words. Improving a youngster's vocabulary certainly improves one's reading skills. Words are never outdated. All of the books are in great shape because they were kept in a bookcase over the years and not permitted out of our household. Because we all used it, we took care of it over our school years.
