The Prairie Valley Family YMCA is accepting resumes for our Activate Prairie Valley Director position. This full-time position will assume direct responsibility and leadership for all external community health and well-being initiatives in our service area including Activate America, Pioneering Healthier Communities and other national YMCA health initiatives and collaborations that the PVFY pursues as part of its strategic priorities. In addition the APVD will work closely and cooperatively with the Kane County Health Department’s “Making Kane County Fit For Kids” initiative, Activate Elgin, and other coalitions and community partners throughout the county that support a healthy Kane County. The Prairie Valley Family YMCA is committed to building a staff team that represents the ethnic diversity of its service area. Position requires an undergraduate degree in public health, nutrition, wellness, community development or related field and a minimum of 2 years work successful work in their field. Exceptional communication skills, out-going personality, the ability to reach and engage diverse groups, build and mobilize coalitions, manage grant programs and work independently are essential to the success of this position. The ability to speak both English and Spanish is highly desired. Successful individual will have a strong work ethic and be a champion for healthy living through their personal commitment.
