She was so scared at first she wouldn't walk. She took to me right away and follows me everywhere. However, she's gotten increasingly territorial about me, especially with my other dog, the dog I pet-sit, and my cat. Yesterday, the cat jumped on my lap and she lunged at him (and toward my face), and I really think she wanted to kill him. I ended up with claw marks from the cat all over my face.
I think the she would be the same with small children, and she growls and barks at anyone who walks in. She doesn't stop either.
The thing that worries me is she really shows no major warning signs. No raised hackles or anything, just looks mildly interested, then snaps and lunges.
I have two rescue cats, an adopted dog, and I have kids, friends, and dogs coming in and out often. I really don't know what to do short of putting this dog to sleep because she is so territorial. I am scared to death of her mood swings, and that she might hurt someone. I am not one to take this lightly and I cried myself to sleep yesterday because she is a sweet dog to me when one on one, she's very loyal, obedient, housebroken, and gentle, and she was abused at her prior home (at least the shelter said so).
I do not want her put to sleep and I am hoping maybe someone will want to give her a new home where she will be an only pet and there are no children around. She is fine outside with kids and dogs, just inside in her territory. I don't know about a yard, because I don't have one. She is quiet and would love to sleep on your bed. I really am endeared to this dog and don't want to euthanize her, but know that any shelter I take her to will do the same, and she was terrified in a shelter, and I don't want her to die alone and afraid. This is my last resort.
She seems to be part Finnish spitz and part bully breed (maybe boxer or pit?). She is 3 years old, and is yellow with white socks and belly markings. She has adorable ears and beautiful big brown eyes. She is about 40 lbs and rather skinny right now.
She would come with her bed, vet records, collar, leash, and eating mat to keep the floor clean. I am asking that you make a donation of $80 to the animal society of your choice so that she does not end up getting used for anything bad. I am asking for an adoption contract to be signed, and that I be able to see where she will live, and maybe visit once or twice after she has been adopted. I know this sounds like a lot, but she's been through so much, and I don't know what else to do.

Emma is a year old. She is a very active dog. Needs to be outside a lot, and running. She knows how to fetch a ball and bring it back to you and a Frisbee. She knows how to sit and stay and lay down and to give you her paw. She also knows how to go to her house when told. She’s good off a leach. She will come back to you when called back. She is fully potty trained, she will wait at the door to go out.
Emma comes with dog bowls and a large crate that is airport approved. She also has lots of toys and 2 leashes.
I currently have two dogs, and I just recently had a baby. It's just become too overwhelming for me to manage two dogs. He needs more attention that I can give him. He is very ranbunctions and full of energy. He loves to play and loves attention. He's kenneled up during the day while I'm away from the home and spends alot of time outside in the backyard when I am home.
He does go to the bathroom outside if you leave him out long enough. Patience is a must!
He has not been neutered. I just received the post card from the vet that he's due for 2 shots. He was taken to the vet on 5/15/08 and I still have the original receipt for your records. The total vet bill was $199.00. In addition, I have his original papers and the original purchase receipt. I payed just about $400.00 for Lucky, from the Happiness is Pets dog breeder/pound.
Lucky has an AVID Microchip in him as well so if he's ever lost or stolen he can easily be identified and found. I also have the micropchip certificate for your records.
I do NOT, please let me repeat myself, I do NOT want Lucky going to a shelter or a home where he will not be taken care of. Rather, I am looking for a family that would love to adopt Lucky.

Heinz was born close to 4/10/04 --> because it was an election year, she was named after Teresa Heinz. Her brothers Kerry and Edwards have since been adopted, but this sweet girl is waiting for the right family to come along and take her to her forever home.
She is a very pretty girl, but she's a little shy. She needs a little time to get to know you before she'll show her true self. Once she does, you'll see that she is a very sweet and loving girl, who adores having her ears and neck tickled, and being brushed.

She came on a transport with 14 dogs and one cat in a mini-van, and two brave volunteers. 6 puppies were in two crates, the cat was in a crate, and all the other dogs were just in the van. What dedication from these two awesome ladies.... it was a SEVEN HOUR RIDE!
When I went to get Angel, she was so terrified, she wouldn't walk. In the car, she curled up in a little ball and didn't make a sound.
At home, she became a different animal. It's clear that she's top dog already! She follows me everywhere, walks well with our dog-walking group, and is decent with other animals.
Her teeth are in horrid condition (my vet said it's from poor nutrition and neglect), her breath stinks, and she flinches every time someone raises an arm. She started to whimper when my friend raised her voice to call her own dog over. She's had a tough past, and I can understand that people may have walked past her in the over-crowded shelter.
But... she has so much potential :0) She's sweet, obedient, has an enormous bladder (heh), and doesn't misbehave. And, she's not missing a previous owner or situation, so she's so happy to be here. You can see the gratitude in her eyes when she comes by for cuddles and love.
How awful to think about the ones who didn't get adopted, and to think she could very easily have been one of them.
