Midwest Care Management Services Inc. provides care management and guardianship services to older adults and people with disabilities. The Estate Manager will act as the agent for Midwest when we are appointed as Guardian of Estate.
The Estate Manager is a challenging and rewarding position. The Estate Manager Associate will gain experience in working with investments, bank accounts, maintaining and selling real estate (through a broker), public benefits such as Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare. We step in and manage the financial affairs for our clients when they are unable to manage it on their own.
Our ideal candidate will be caring, highly organized, and willing to work in a changing environment as we get new clients on a regular basis. The position is based out of Rogers Park office but does require local travel to client homes, banks, and other vendors. A vehicle is required for the job.
Responsibilities and Duties
Administers all financial related activities for clients including Guardian of Estate, Trustee Work, and Rep Payee work.
Investigates assets by reviewing mail, going to financial institutions, and submitting paperwork via fax and email.
Collects income and assets for clients.
Reviews and redirects client mail. Pays client bills.
Manages and tracks client assets, income, and expenditures.
Secures client assets such as real estate.
Acts as a prudent fiduciary by ensuring assets are protected and insured, investments are appropriate, and money is not wasted.
Develops and implements processes to manage, appraise, dispose, and sell real estate and personal property.
Meets customer needs, offers options, resolves problems and follows up with customers
Discuss issues with attorneys, trust officers, vendors, and other interested.
Provide reports needed for court such as inventories, budgets, and accountings.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a business related field.
Experience: 1-2 years of related experience.
