We make stunning viewing experiences from our customers’ digital art by printing them on our float-mounted “fotoflōt” panels. More information about the product lines in our booklet that you can find at https://ff4.us/booklet

We usually do not sell "ready to show" pieces but have one unique huge and absolutely stunning "fotoflōt pro" panel for sale with Chicago photography by the iconic Hedrich-Blessing architectural photography firm. The panel is 8ft tall and 4ft wide and shows an amazing detail photo of the Aqua Tower taken by photographer Steve Hall.

The panel has currently no mounting hardware attached (it can be shown standing on the floor) but there are several wall attachment or mounting options available. It is currently located in Palatine, IL and has been stored "light safe" in an air conditioned environment.

The price for the panel is $1,995 (FOB Palatine) plus a license payment to the photographer. Payment by credit card through our online-store preferred.

About "fotoflōt pro"

Panels start as traditional silver-halide photo prints that are permanently "sandwiched" between a layer of clear acrylic glazing in the front and a sheet of stabilizer in the back. Panels need no frame or mat so that the image goes all the way to the (invisible) edge. Panels can simply stand on the floor (secured to the wall) or they can have a "float mount box" attached to the back for a dramatic wall mounted floating display.

The "fotoflōt pro" construction technique has been used in Europe for decades and becomes more popular in photo galleries, museums, and commercial and private decor in the US.

The panel for sale has been constructed as follows:

* An extremely high resolution image has been printed on the glossy version of Fuji Crystal Archive Professional C Type photo paper. The silver-halide continuous tone photo print was made on a 50in wide Durst Lambda printer.

* Fuji Crystal Archive Professional C type paper is one of the most resilient and fade-resistant photo papers available. It has been tested by Wilhelm Imaging Research, the industry’s “gold standard” for testing of photo paper durability. Their tests show that it can be exposed to normal interior lighting and indirect sunlight for decades without perceptible fading from either light or air pollution. The panel shouldn't be displayed where it will receive direct sunlight for extended periods of time, as no display method can prevent fading under those conditions.

* The print was permanently "sandwiched" between a layer of 1/4in clear acrylic glazing (glossy viewing surface) and a sheet of white 3mm Dibond as a stabilizer in the back.

* The 1/4in thick acrylic glazing creates a subtle 3D effect when looked at up close and creates a more vivid viewing experience.

* We have selected the compound aluminum Dibond backing for its superior dimensional stability across a wide temperature range.

We can discuss mounting options or delivery and can provide small material samples of the panel construction.
