*Ebert Furniture company was founded in Philadelphia in 1854 and moved to Red Lion, PA in 1917. They produced bedroom suites, secretaries, dining room sets and cabinets. Furniture production stopped during WWII, when the factory switched to making gunstocks. After the war, they went back to making furniture until the company was sold to Bethlehem Furniture Company in 1959.

Original light taupe resin top with chrome inset florette in center (part of the folding mechanism). Chrome four star pedestal base. Each section of the table folds down, then folds together, with the legs, to a small size that can be stored in a closet. Designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli, Italy. Genius! Was only made from 1970-1979. Perfect for your kitchen or dining room.

*Giancarlo Piretti was born in Bologna, Italy in 1940. He attended art schools there and subsequently taught Interior Design. During that time, he was also designing furniture for Anonima Castelli. He has won numerous awards and has items in many museums, including MoMA, New York. He still lives and works in Bologna with his son, designer Alessandro Piretti.

*Italian design company Castelli began in 1877 when Ettore Castelli founded a small workshop in Bologna. In 1939, the firm was renamed Anonima Catelli and began producing modern office furniture for which the brand is best known on the vintage market. It is recognizable as one of the foremost manufacturers of Italian design of the 20th century and as the producer of the iconic Plia Chair. In the 1960s, Giancarlo Piretti joined Castelli as an interior designer. During his twelve years at Castelli, Piretti obtained numerous industrial patents and designed many new iconic models, primarily in seating design.

*Mart Stam was a famous Dutch architect and furniture designer. Born in 1899, he was designing legendary pieces by age twenty-seven. This chair was his most famous design that was initially developed for Seissenhoff Stelling. He became a popular designer almost overnight. He influenced Mies Van der Rohe, who made his version of this chair. Mart Stam was awarded the authorship of the cantilever chair design by the German Court. Mart Stam died in Switzerland in 1986.

*Hans J. Wegner (Danish, 1914–2007) was a renowned furniture designer associated with Organic Functionalism. Born in southern Denmark, Wegner apprenticed as a cabinetmaker, and later attended the Danish School of Arts and Crafts and the Architectural Academy in Copenhagen. Wegner received a number of awards and honors throughout his career. His works have been shown major institutions around the world, such as The Museum of Modern Art in New York and Die Neue Sammlung in Munich. Wegner died in Denmark in 2007.
