*Russel Wright was an American industrial designer during the 20th century. Beginning in the late 1920s through the 1960s, Russel Wright created a succession of artistically distinctive and commercially successful items that helped bring modern design to the general public. Wright designed a succession of popular furniture lines ad ceramics for many furniture companies beginning in the early 1930s through the 1950s. His most popular line of essentially Art Deco American Modern "blonde" wooden furniture was produced by the Conant-Ball company between 1935 and 1939, and bore the branded mark "American Modern Built by Conant-Ball Co. His ceramic line also titled “American Modern”, were produced from the lates 30’s-50’s and was the best selling ceramic service ever! It was a successful example of the Good Capital Design movement, which sought to design modern goods available to consumers at every price point.

From its start until it closed in 1995, Treasure Craft was a popular maker of stone pottery, which included cookie jars, dinnerware and collectibles by well-known sculptors. In 1999, Treasure Craft was sold again to Zak Designs, a leader in licensed products aimed primarily at the juvenile market. Although the Treasure Craft name was in use by Zak Designs for several years, it was phased out and is the company is no longer making new products for the Treasure Craft line.
