$50 or best offer for this piece of Chicago WW2 history.
This is WW2 US Army Footlocker Built in 1942 by the Kleber Trunk and Bag Company.
Original hardware present except missing one lid corner reinforcement. It's possible the side handles aren't original but they may have been installed while in service.
Partial label indicates at least some of it's service history includes use by a Transportation Officer at the Quartermaster Depot on Pershing Road (most likely the historic facility at 1769 W. Pershing Road)
Also has the stencil indicating it belonged to "L.S. Wright" and his service number
Appears to be original paint with only one layer.
Interior lid arm/stay is present but disconnected. No interior tray.
Wear includes some delaminating on the base which has some flex when pushed. Not advisable for carrying heavy loads but plenty sturdy for storage on floor, use as coffee table, decor, etc.
Available for viewing at my home in Garfield Ridge or a nearby public location. Willing to hand deliver up to 20 miles or so for a committed buyer.
