Engine & Performance:
- Powered by an 8-cylinder Volvo Penta gas engine (5.7L V8 with ~1,145 hours). Currently not running on all cylinders. The motor starts and idles, but due to a cylinder compression issue it won’t go above ~2400 RPM or about 10 MPH. (It cannot get on plane/past no-wake speeds in current state.)
- Needs engine repair or rebuild. Diagnosis points to one or more bad cylinders – a rebuild or replacement is needed to restore full power. All other engine accessories (alternator, power steering, etc.) and the Volvo Duo-Prop outdrive are intact and were working prior to the cylinder issue.
- Important: Due to the engine condition, sea trials can only be at idle speed. You’re welcome to inspect compression or bring a mechanic. The boat is sold as-is, where-is. This is a mechanic’s special for someone who can fix or repower – priced accordingly low.

Additional Tips for Buyers: The boat is sold as-is, with no warranties – please come prepared to inspect. I have all ownership documents in hand (clean Illinois titles for both boat and trailer, registration up to date).
It’s currently docked, so if you buy it, we can coordinate pickup – either you tow it via trailer (there’s a launch ramp nearby), or potentially keep it at the harbor slip for remainder of the paid term (through end of October) if you make arrangements.
