My name is Scott Reichard. I'm available to play music at all kinds of events such as: corporate functions, private parties, weddings, celebrations, religious services, restaurants, ect. I also teach guitar lessons of many different styles such as classical, jazz, rock, metal, funk, blues ect. For sound samples and video, check my website sdrguitar.com
I'm a classically trained guitarist, with a repertoire that spans five centuries and multiple styles. I spent a year in Los Angeles studying at Musician's Institute in Hollywood. While in L.A, I studied with Grammy Award winning classical guitarist/composer, Evan Hirschelman. Evan helped me to become a more technically sound, well-rounded, and expressive musician. An injury to the median nerve in my right hand cut my studies short, forcing me to move back to Chicago, where my hand was surgically repaired.
Once my hand healed, I continued my studies at Prairie State College and joined the PSC jazz band. I won a most outstanding player award at the Lake County Community College Jazz Contest. I graduated from Prairie State with a Liberal Arts degree and decided to dedicate myself primarily to classical guitar.
Upon earning my Associates Degree from PSC, I developed a repertoire of over 30 solo guitar tunes, half of them classical compositions, the other half includes jazz tunes, popular songs, and a few of my own compositions. I've been invited to share my music at multiple weddings and restaurants (Cilantro, Svagatti's, Grape& Grain) in Chicago and its suburbs.
Currently, I'm teaching guitar at Down Home Guitars in Frankfort Illinois, and the Beverly Arts Center. In 2013, I decided to continue my classical guitar studies at Columbia College Chicago. I'm a performance scholarship award winner at Columbia College and as of December 2015, I'm a Bachelor of Music graduate.
