My name is John, and I'm a filmmaker to the Chicago area. I am a local DP/Gaffer to the Chicago area and have 9+ years production experience across narrative, commercial, corporate, and other types of productions. I am an owner operator of various camera packages (Sony FX series, Canon C, RED, and Arri), support, and lighting (Full inventory list available upon request). I also operate for sourcing crew across Chicago and nearby cities so I can step up to make near and far happen! I also work with analog formats and love to get into experimentation for unique output across minidv, super 8, 16mm, and other formats.
I work as an independent shooter working on a basis with clients for different productions in narrative films, corporate/marketing, documentaries, commercial scale productions, social media content as well as live event or music videos. I strive to collaborate with others to make projects come to life with my experience in visuals and various production work. Whether it be a one person production working in a smaller footprint, to larger scale productions needing experience and leadership as a department head. I work directly with you as a support and means to make your vision happen.
I believe in a collective shared vision with others I work with and love to achieve visual storytelling. I'm also looking to work with other directors, creative directors, producers, and DP's as well! When reaching out about a project; please give information/scope of the project with crew needs, deliverables, and other information that may be useful to the production.
