1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V Diamond Jubilee Edition. 39K very easy miles with original paint, trim, chrome, interior all in excellent condition. Even the hand painted pinstripes from the factory look nearly new. Lots of information can be found about these cars online, but here’s a summary. Diamond Jubilee refers to Ford’s 75th anniversary and this top-of-the-line special edition Mark V was part of the celebration. The Diamond Jubilee Edition Mark V features very nearly every luxury/convenience option that was available (a long list), in addition to several significant DJE-only features. These include the interior configuration (first ever bucket seats with console) and materials, leather covered dash and arm rest pads, unique Dark Ebony woodgrain pattern throughout including control knobs, color-keyed Turbine wheels and bumper guards, carpet density twice the standard Lincolns including the trunk compartment, unique grille and ornament/emblem, and more including DJE-only accessories. They were available only in two DJE-specific colors, Jubilee Gold and Diamond Blue (these colors were optional on standard Lincolns for 1979).
This particular car drives perfectly and comes with significant recent maintenance including a rear main seal replacement, transmission service, more. Everything is in excellent working condition and that remarkably includes cold AC, the clock (including all chronometer functions) and Miles To Empty computer/display. The interior is beautiful with zero damage anywhere and no significant signs of wear. The leather dash shows none of the typical shrinking and doesn’t have a scratch or nick on it anywhere. All the fine chrome trim and details on the dash panels and switch housings are excellent. Map pockets panels often scratched up look terrific. The carpet has no damage, stains, etc. Everywhere you look is a pleasing sight inside this car, even the moonroof shade is spotless. There were very few options available for the DJE, the most significant being the 460 engine, sliding glass moonroof and the integrated CB radio. This car has all three, and ready to go anywhere right now.
