ACE Amandla Charter High School is an inclusive community that prepares students for rewarding careers in architecture, construction, and engineering.

Responsibilities include the following

Leadership
Support strategic planning that is focused on results: school culture, student discipline, and attendance
Leadership, hiring, management, and ongoing feedback and evaluation of school culture staff.

School Culture
Ensure instructional staff creates a future-oriented school culture of high expectations where students feel they are safe and belong.
Develop and Enforce a Student Code of Conduct that is aligned to Restorative Practices and Positive Behavior Incentive Systems.
Lead School Culture team to create a regular structure of student celebration.
Support development and lead Adult Culture initiatives.
Develop and monitor a supervision plan for school common areas such as hallways, bathrooms, lunchroom to ensure students are safe at all times

Curriculum & Professional Development
Provide professional development and ensure teachers receive strong coaching and feedback on classroom management and building relationships with students.
Provide guidance and coaching to staff around behavior management and conflict de-escalation.
Supervise behavioral performance management systems: utilization of PBIS systems and data, instructional and coaching cycles, and coaching alignment to the professional development plan.
Train, develop, evaluate members of the school culture team

Student Support Services
Design and monitor the implementation of student behavioral interventions
Ensure instructional staff collaborates with School Culture Leader in integrating student support services, safety, and discipline systems that meet students’ social-emotional needs.
Ensure Dean of Students is actively applying Restorative Practices and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports to Disciplinary Issues.
Ensure Dean of Attendance is actively reducing student tardiness and absenteeism to meet schoolwide goals.
Ensure Social Worker is actively applying best practices in meeting students’ social-emotional needs.

Key Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Respond to parent escalated concerns related to safety and discipline.
Collaborate with School Culture team to engage parents via most effective communication.
Establish clear systems for staff to compile and communicate behavior data to key stakeholders.
Establish clear systems for staff to compile and communicate attendance data to key stakeholders.
Work closely with staff members to ensure students out of school for behavioral reasons are provided academic materials when not in school.
Interface with the Chicago Police Department as necessary and serve as the school representative at community meetings and/or legal hearings.
Collaborate with other school leaders to develop and implement the School Improvement Plan
