Hiring ASAP: Dog Walker in Logan Square. (Chicago)

compensation: $15-17 an hour, based on previous experience
employment type: part-time

ROUTES AVAILABLE:
* Logan Square to Avondale
* Old Irving Park

Welcome to Rover-Time. We're a small business made up of a close-knit team that customizes pet care for busy homes across Chicago. Our work doesn't stop at good, we strive for great! We're focused on providing the safest, most detail-obsessed, professional dog walking and pet sitting in the city. What matters most, however, is the fact that our work makes a difference for our customers. We want to make lives easier for pet parents.

Our team culture is something we take a lot of pride in! Although our walkers work solo in the field, they have the support of a fully staffed office and team of fellow walkers behind them. We have fun and we love our work. We're all about supporting each other as a team and feeling connected in our love for animals! We are looking for an animal lover that values honesty, kindness, and accountability on the job, just like the rest of us. Someone that jumps in, who is warm with others, and is up for anything when it comes to their day-to-day.

Everyone on the team is hired as an employee. Perks include:
  • A set route with a flexible schedule for your daily appointments.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) that you accrue for vacation, personal, or sick days.
  • We're closed on most major holidays but offer time-and-a-half for working holidays and a higher hourly compensation if you work outside of normal business hours.
  • Rover-Time will pay you for every hour worked: including travel time!
Sounds like a place you want to work? Awesome! You should apply!

Previous pet care experience is preferred; ideally, dog walking, pet sitting, volunteering in a shelter, or working at a doggy daycare, kennel, or veterinarian's office. We take our job very seriously and expect everyone that works with us to do the same and go above and beyond to ensure the safety and happiness of the pets in our care.

Our company values your interests and passions outside the work we would do together. We do believe this job does lend itself to balancing a second source of income. Most use their part-time position on our team as supplemental income.

Freelancers that set their own hours, or those that work from home before 10 or after 4 should get in touch! We also encourage stay-at-home moms/dads with kids (finally!) returning to school, those that work early (5 a.m. to 10 a.m.), and folks that work second jobs starting after 5 p.m. to apply.

If you have a second job, it must support your commitment to dog walking every Monday-Friday, minimally between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Be available between the hours of 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every Monday-Friday
Available to start with Rover-Time beginning by mid-July
Available to make a long-term commitment of at least SEVEN months
A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance
Live in Chicago, ideally near the neighborhood you wish to serve
Outstanding customer service skills, a positive thinker
Drug-free employer

COMPENSATION:
Estimated weekly pay starts around $250-350/wk with fast growth opportunity.

Accepting later weekday walks (after 5 p.m.) or weekend walks increases earnings. Vacation care and cat visits do as well. It's possible to earn as much as $400/wk on our team, if you're highly motivated.

All applicants will be required to:
* Provide at least two references
* Sign a non-compete agreement and an Employee Handbook
* Pass a criminal background check

To apply please reply back with a resume and we'll set up an interview!
