Established in 2017, Centennial Crafted Beer + Eatery is a special craft beer bar & restaurant located in River North. We are focused on providing genuine hospitality, outstanding craft beers, and an elevated menu from our scratch kitchen. We have a great team here, and our team is growing.
We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen. The Sous Chef will play a crucial role in assisting the Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, consistency and presentation. The ideal candidate will be a skilled leader, a creative problem-solver, and possess a strong passion for culinary excellence.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to create a culture and work environment based upon respect
Provide opportunities for staff to learn, grow and develop their abilities through training
Support the Chef in supervising the kitchen during prep and service periods
Actively cooking on the line and executing prep production as needed
Perform inventory and purchasing responsibilities on a weekly basis
Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and preventative maintenance
Ensure the quality and accuracy of product deliveries
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, front-of-house staff and management
Assist in resolving kitchen-related issues and challenges
Monitor food costs and minimize waste
Ensure efficient kitchen flow and service
Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Qualifications:

Strong leadership skills
Highly organized
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Food Valid Food Manager certification
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
