Position Summary
The Landscape Maintenance Operator is responsible for performing landscape maintenance services for residential, commercial, municipal, and utility properties. This position operates landscaping equipment and performs lawn care, pruning, planting, debris removal, and general grounds maintenance while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lawn and Landscape Maintenance
Mow lawns using commercial walk-behind, stand-on, and riding mowers.
Trim grass around trees, fences, buildings, and other obstacles using string trimmers.
Edge sidewalks, driveways, and curbs.
Blow grass clippings and debris from paved surfaces.
Prune shrubs, hedges, and small trees.
Remove weeds from landscape beds and hardscape areas.
Install seasonal flowers, mulch, and landscape materials.
Water newly installed plants, trees, and flowers as needed.
Assist with tree planting and landscape enhancement projects.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
Safely operate commercial landscaping equipment including:
Zero-turn mowers
Stand-on mowers
String trimmers
Backpack blowers
Hedge trimmers
Chainsaws (if qualified)
Utility vehicles and trailers
Conduct daily equipment inspections.
Clean and maintain equipment after use.
Report equipment damage or repair needs promptly.
