A real proper Gibson ES-335 TD. 1972, while Kalamazoo builders were still in their prime, Gibson was on top. 1 9/16" nut width, quite comfy! Neck just feels amazing, both in the shape and from the finish wear. As someone who has a lot of baller acoustics, I love to play this guitar unplugged. And the pickups don't hurt when it's plugged in... They sound awesome.
Neck is straight, truss is happy. Frets have room for crowning and then some. All OG. This is the one year of Gibson's embossed pickup covers, which look awesome. Gibson switched to Maple necks on these a few years later, but this is still mahogany, like the 60's 335's. The Block inlays are also beautiful.
Cosmetically, it's got some awesome sweat wear. Check out the neck pictures, there's really nice sweated off finish, and it feels great from that wear too. The binding is also suuuuuper yellowed, it's just magnificent. I love the big wide headstock of this era too, and the metal tuners are nice and aged too. They still function really accurately and hold well. There are a few body nics that I've tried to highlight in the photos. Of course ask any questions!
Why is it labeled "second"? My guitar tech (someone who is 40+ years in the biz) thinks its from the wide spacing on the dots on the 12th fret. So... pretty inconsequential. But yeah, it's there! Plays and sounds like a dream. Scotty Pippen was second too!
I have a number of cases that can be included with this guitar. High quality gig bags or hardshell. Please ask if you'd like an SKB shaped hardshell with it. I have proper boxes, packing materials, and lots of experience shipping high end instruments worldwide. Will be properly insured, but more importantly, properly packaged for safe transit.
