Note that this is not a Fender instrument and has precisely zero (0) parts manufactured by Fender.
Bought this second-hand about a year ago and have played it a bunch since. Just looking for something different because, well, I'm a lot like you.
This is a partscaster Tele/Strat hybrid with modified Tele copy body and a Strat neck copy.
Body's probably alder and is very much hand-painted. It has front (upper bout) and rear (belly) contours carved into it which are actually kinda nice. Vintage style ashtray bridge with brass saddles. Probably Lollar pickups -- the neck is most certainly a Lollar "Royal T" which sounds a touch like a Strat neck pickup. Bridge pickup sounds vintage-voiced to me and anyone else who hears or plays it.
Neck is one-piece maple with a skunk stripe, manufacturer unknown. Whoever built this guitar decided it'd be cute to put a Fender decal on the headstock, and the heel of the neck even has a hilarious "pencil-dated" bit on it. The neck has been relic'd/sanded on the rear of the first 4 frets. It feels nice.
Really cool guitar. Love playing it, love looking at it. It's goofy as hell. It sounds great. A winning formula.
I will include a very nice, expensive Levy's gigbag (model CM18L with leather trim -- $100 bag brand new) with your purchase and will give you a choice of very similar straps.
Asking $700, cash and carry pick-up in Bridgeport not far off the expressway and right off of 55. Please ask ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS UP FRONT! I am happy to help.
