Power Requirements: Power cable has been updated to a grounded three prong
Modifications: The handle is changed as well as tubes and two changed pots. Cable has been changed to a grounded three prong. There is a small hole that was added to the back baffle. It was neatly plugged and is almost unnoticeable. All else including transformers/choke is original
Operational Condition: Fully-Functioning and absolutely fabulous sounding
Cosmetic Condition: Excellent with the aforementioned small hole in the lower back panel. At one time this amp was covered in a black vinyl covering with staples. The staples have been carefully removed to reveal the gorgeous patina of the original lacquered-tweed covering. The tweed has some cigarette burns on the top, a small-ish rip in one corner, some "browning" of the lacquer finish, etc. The control plate has some oxidation and wear to it. Overall, this amp has that weathered 70-year old tweed look that Fender and other companies have tried to replicate with their relic'ng process but can never quite hit. This is the real deal
Description:
Want an amp that will make you emotional every time you strum a chord through it or pull a bend up towards the heavens? Well then, you've landed on the right listing, weary traveler because this "Drip Edge" (so named for its aluminum trim around the grill that reminds some collectors of the rain shield rail strips that was used on some older cars and roofs) will deliver inspiration in spades every time.
What else can you really say about a classic? The Twin Reverb is perhaps the most famous Fender amp and a 1960s Fender Twin such as this beauty is perhaps the final word on gorgeous clean guitar tone (or Electric Piano for that matter) and is the ultimate pedal platform.
If you're looking for a rare, collectable, working piece of art and American musical history as well as just one of the best-sounding guitar amps money can buy you owe it to yourself to consider this beaut from '68!
