Lowden o10c
This guitar sounds like a grand piano and a choir of angels. I’ve had it for over 20 years. It was built in the 1990s in the original factory in Ireland when Lowden was a small company, and their enormous reputation was built on the strength of the guitars of this era before mass production.
At the time I was on the hunt for the best sounding acoustic available with price as no factor, I played every boutique build on the market and the Lowden O won.
It’s been carefully kept at home in a Lowden branded Hiscox case, humidified and cared for. There are no functional issues at all, it plays and sounds incredible, especially for finger pickers. The top is AAAA grade Cedar, with Mahogany back & sides, a perfect combo for detail, clarity and warmth. Big lows, big highs, big mids, it’s a big sounding guitar. I just play electric mostly these days, and archtops when I rarely play acoustic. This instrument should be played more than I’ve been using it.
