SPL SPECTRALIZER – digital harmonics processor
The SPL Spectralizer allows for in-depths adjustments of the frequency spectrum of instruments or mixes, improving clarity, depth & detail perception as well as raising perceived loudness without applying compression. In contrast to conventional exciters the Spectralizer does not produce side effects and does not affect phase. All details of the stereo image remain unchanged. Processing results are free of intermodulation and noise, transients remain unchanged. Its controls allow for separate intensity adjustment of 2nd & 3rd order harmonics, density patterns of the harmonics spectrum, as well as dry/wet ratio (for instance for driving the harmonics processor stage harder while reducing the harmonics sum level).
An additional boost function ('kick') is available. Uniquely, the 'solo' switch enables evaluation – and output – just of the harmonics, i.e. the processor can be routed to a separate channel on a mixer, recording channel or other processors for extended parallel mix possibilities.
Digital connectivity only! AES / EBU or SPDIF only! Switchable: 110 / 230 V operation.
The unit is fully functional and in perfect technical condition. As with all SPL Red Series units, the encoders (dials) may occasionally appear a bit slow in reacting, but all values can be selected. This is expected behavior and much better on this one than with other units I've seen.
Cosmetics: mostly in excellent cosmetic condition. Except for some wear / rack rash around mounting holes and edges from rack mounting. Mostly covered when racked. English manual available online at spl.info.
