Washburn bench made bowlback mandolin. 1897- 98
It has been family owned and preserved, A great rendition of a "Made in Chicago" Icon, void of damage, splits, cracks or scratches.
Simply stated marquetry and binding around the perimeter of the top and sides. Binding on fretboard edge and tuning machine heads appear to be natural, tortoiseshell pick guard appears to be natural as well.
16 piece rosewood back, mahogany neck, solid and straight (frets may need some dressing)
The engraved Washburn tuning head works as it should, with what appears to be ivory keys and ivory binding on fret board edge. Hard-shell case.
I came across one very minor top crack, that was expertly repaired.
Pictures seem to display light scuffing, it is only excess light reflection.
