The Benge trumpet was hand crafted by Eldon Benge for “Bud” Herseth to play in the Chicago Symphony. I contacted Eldons grandson at the shop that remains in Chicago. He verified the numbers and added me as the owner of this horn. Mr. Herseth was from Minnesota and I found the horn in Minneapolis. It is a thing of beauty. Perfection. Not a dent and no finish wear. The valves and slides are perfect. It’s plays better than my Stradivarius. You can check out the you tube video of “Bud” playing the opening to the Mahler Symphony on this very horn.
