POSITION OVERVIEW
We believe in developing our team from within. Sales Assistants will have the opportunity to shadow our top-performing Sales Representatives, learn the hardwood flooring business hands-on, and grow into a Sales Representative role over time. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to build a long-term career in sales.
Our Sales Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our Sales Representatives by handling administrative tasks, liaising with internal teams, and ensuring that customer needs are met quickly and accurately.
Our Sales Reps’ responsibilities include selling wood flooring products and services to customers visiting our showroom, as well as proactively reaching out to potential and existing clients to generate new business and upsell products. Your role would be assisting our Sales Reps. Construction experience is a plus.
This is a fast-paced, detail-oriented role in which responsiveness and company are paramount. Acting as the central point of coordination between sales, purchasing, delivery, and other departments, you will ensure the smooth execution of orders and an exceptional customer experience.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
• Support Sales Representatives with day-to-day administrative tasks
• Coordinate with purchasing, delivery, warehouse, and other departments to fulfill sales requests
• Process orders, quotes, and invoices accurately and efficiently
• Follow up internally to ensure the timely completion of customer orders
• Communicate updates to Sales Reps and customers as needed
• Maintain accurate records in the POS system and QuickBooks (POS system and QuickBooks knowledge are preferable)
• Ensure fast response times and high-quality customer service
• Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries professionally
• Assist with problem-solving and resolving order-related issues
• Support administrative and operational projects
• Learn and stay knowledgeable about existing and new product lines
• Assist in maximizing sales potential with both new and returning customers
• Deliver exceptional customer service
• Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Effectively multitask in a busy environment
REQUIREMENTS
• Strong communication skills (phone, written, in-person)
• Comfortable speaking with customers and vendors
• Computer skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Some knowledge of QuickBooks, POS preferred.
• Willingness to learn new software systems
• Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Fluent in English (written and verbal)
• Bilingual (Spanish or Polish/Romanian) is a plus
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• Strong sense of urgency and follow-through
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude
WORK HOURS
Full-time
Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 5 pm, with an hour for lunch. You will also work every other Saturday, from 6:30 am to 2 pm.
COMPENSATION (if job transfers to a full-time position)
!!! UNLIMITED COMMISSION POTENTIAL !!! - Pay is to be discussed, but you can earn a percentage of sales commission
