Yes folks, If you haven't already, it's time to get that special someone flowers, candy, a gift, a card or all those things if that 'special' someone has got you 'hooked' on this very 'special' day. Which makes me have to ask, what the heck IS Valentine's Day?

The 'holiday' is rooted in the ancient Roman festival of 'Lupercalia', an annual fertility celebration that started on February 15th. Pope Gelasius the first recast this pagan festival as a 'Christian' feast day around 496 AD, declaring February 14th to be "St. Valentine's Day". And who was this 'St. Valentine' that this day was named after? St. Valentine was 'sainted' after the fact that as a Roman citizen who became a Christian priest was martyred by being beheaded during the reign of Rome's notorious Claudius Gothicus. This Christian Preacher was arrested and imprisoned upon being caught marrying Christian couples and otherwise aiding Christians who were at the time being persecuted by Claudius in Rome. Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia which got changed to 'St. Valentine's Day by sacrificing a goat and a dog, then whipped women with the hides of the animals they had just slain!

... So dear, do ya really wanna go 'all out' for your Valentine's Day NOW? Just kidding here, I love the 'spirit' of this V-Day and the joy it may bring to all involved despite the real truth of the matter but, that's the grip and the power the Roman Catholic Church has got on our world. These things which seem lovely and 'innocent' are actually from the pagan world set up by ... you know who.

With all that in mind - HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! Just don't ... lose your head about it!
