I am selling the engine out of my '64 Corvair 110 hp, automatic. I pulled it out of the car early this year and it has been in my garage since. The engine was rebuilt (new piston rings, new rod bearings, heads redone with valve seats), carbs rebuilt, new motor mount ...etc etc etc .... please look over the receipts in the photos. This was an EXPENSIVE rebuilt.
In the photos you see plastic over the carbs - that's just too keep dirt/dust from going in. I have all the top of the engine parts too (air cleaner...etc). Now let's get to the story: after getting the car back from the shop that did the work I barely drove the car (I'm talking very few miles); the engine started to make a sound (see attached video. Please excuse the sound quality; I think I had the phone too close to the engine). I stopped driving it right away of course. And that's where we are today. The engine turns fine by hand; I don't know know what the sound is. I went in a whole different direction with my Corvair so don't need this engine. Ask any questions and I'll try to answer the best I can/know. I prefer to sell it person.
