No couples, no men and no dogs. Very Igbqia+ bipoc and 420 friendly. No tobacco use in the apartment but neighbors smoke on the back patio all the time. I have three friendly cats. Open to discussing another friendly cat moving in if you’re willing to split cat related chores.
Lease starts 10/1/2025 and ends 9/30/2026 with option to renew. $2350 total per month. Your portion would be $1400. You'll have to apply with the private landlord and show proof of employment. He will run a background/credit check. He’s chill.
Street parking only. Five steps up to our front door. We are on the first floor and have nice neighbors above and below. The 4-unit building was built in 2024 and we were the first people to move in. Located in East Pilsen near 18th and Halsted. Large sunny open living/kitchen/dining. So much natural light! Hard floors. Large front loading in-unit laundry. Open kitchen with dishwasher, marble counters with bar seating, deep sink, microwave, air fryer and gas stove. Plenty of counter space and cabinet storage. Huge pantry. Large patio out back with table/chairs, electric grill and hammock. I even have a small pool lol. Each of us will have our own bathroom with tub, mine is across the hall from my room and yours is attached to the primary bedroom. The home is fully furnished except for your room and office with room to mix your things into the common areas!
Near UIC & the loop. In the heart of East Pilsen with lots of food, boutiques, and bars nearby. Walking distance to Dvorak park and two community gardens. Dvorak has an outdoor pool and it’s fantastic AND FREE. La Casa Del Pueblo grocery store is a 9 minute walk or super quick #18 bus ride. Jewel, Target, Trader Joe's, & Whole Foods are accessible by #18 bus. Aldi and Cermak Produce are a short bus ride on the #21. #18 bus stop is right on our corner and goes to the pink/red/green/orange lines. #8 and #21 buses are a 7 minute walk.
About me: I am single, 34 & a full-time nanny outside the apartment. I often work extra hours on the weekends babysitting, especially during winter. I have three sweet cats. I like to unwind in the living room for a couple hours after work and I usually go to bed early (like 9 on work nights). I host a close friend after letting my roommate know *maybe* twice a month.
My ideal roommate: Femme, 30s(?), friendly, good communicator, respects my cats, respects queer people, willing to care for the space together, cleans up after themself. Would be cool to eat/watch tv together once in a while but that’s absolutely not a requirement.
