hello, i am a 33 yr old hispanic male relocating from houston to chicago, illinois.
i was brought to houston when i was only 2 years old. i applied for daca in 2021 but judge hanen from texas put all first time applicants hold. 5 years later and they are talking about finally approving the application but without a work permit in Texas only. all i want is a chance and an apportunity to be something in life. for years, ive been held back with two hands tied behind my back when im capable of so much more. texas also passed sb 4 which now is a state crime to be here illegally. i didnt ask for any of this. i was born into this life and i feel like ive been treated horribly the last couple of years. by moving to Chicago, when my application does get approved ill finally be able to get a work permit and finally be eligible to get a drivers license for the first time in my life. i dont really have a plan besides getting to chicago and starting what ever job i find first. if anyone knows anywhere i could rent for an affordable price or if you have any tips or ideas of something i havent thought of please dont hesitate to email me. i have no family support and will be doing this on my own but it feels like the right decision.
