Windows 10 reaches its end of life on October 14, 2025, after which Microsoft will no longer provide technical support, feature updates, or quality (security and reliability) updates for the operating system. While Windows 10 PCs will continue to function, they will be vulnerable to viruses and malware without these crucial updates. Users must upgrade to Windows 11 or, for eligible devices, enroll in a paid Extended Security Updates (ESU) program to receive critical security fixes after the support deadline.
What happens after October 14, 2025?
No more security updates: PCs running Windows 10 will not receive new security patches, leaving them exposed to threats.
No more technical support: Microsoft will no longer provide assistance for issues with the operating system.
No new features: Users won't receive any new feature enhancements for Windows 10.
