condition: good
make / manufacturer: Winfield Pottery
model name / number: Gabriel Pasadena
Here is a rare find and a wonderful example of mid-century modern design. These “Gabriel Pasadena” plates, bowls, etc. were produced by Winfield Pottery, founded in 1929 in Pasadena, California, and later located in Santa Monica. (The company ceased operations in 1962.)

The high-gloss design is square with rounded corners; the color is a lustrous deep yellow and gray-green.

Included are:
• Four 9 7/8” dinner plates scribed Gabriel Pasadena 225
• Two 7 5/8” salad plates scribed Gabriel Pasadena 225
• Four 5 ½” bread and butter plates scribed Gabriel Pasadena 225
• Two 5 ½” cereal coupe bowls scribed Gabriel Pasadena 420
• One 4 ¾” fruit or dessert bowl scribed Gabriel Pasadena 225
• Two coffee cups (3 5/8” across top, 2 ¼” high). One is scribed Gabriel 272, one says 272
• Two candle holders (2 5/8” across top, 1 5/8” high), unmarked
• One divided vegetable bowl measuring 12” x 6” x 3 1/8”, scribed Gabriel Pasadena 407

These 18 dishes are in good-to-very-good condition with no cracks, chips or flea bites. They show normal wear for their age; a few have faint gray markings on the eating surface as a result of metal cutlery. They are and highly collectible. If you could find it, the vegetable bowl alone would cost $85 or more; the candle holders are also very rare.

NOTE: Included at no extra charge are three “as is” Gabriel Pasadena dishes: two dinner plates, each with a chip, and one fruit/dessert bowl that has a flea bit on the rim.

FOR PICKUP ONLY in Evanston, Illinois.
