Antique Dutch silver and crystal presentation Epergne (center piece for fruit, desert and flowers) by Fa. J.M. van Kempen & Zoon silversmith.
Dutch silversmiths. Founded 1835 by J.M. van Kempen (1814-77) in Utrecht. 1858 moved to Voorschoten. English craftsmen were hired to instruct Dutch workers in production of forks and spoons in new techniques. Became the largest and oldest manufacturer of silver in the Netherlands.
Awarded to van de Kwakel from parishioners in 1886 for 25 years of service.
The bottom silver part is elaborately engraved with ornaments and dedication and has 4 clear hallmarks indicating maker, silver purity of at least .833. Some hallmarks are not very clear.

The silver part has some crumbling in the middle of the stand, which could be fix from inside, but otherwise in very good condition.
