This vintage European arm chair with impeccable rush seat is a RARE FIND! It was my Grandmother's chair from Upstate NY, but no one was ever allowed to sit on it! ;-) This chair dates back to the 1920s with its distinctive bobbin turned wood details that were used then in textile manufacturing. The dark wood spool style frame has such artistry and craftsmanship from any angle. This chair can be placed floating in a room as it's stunning on all sides.
An English Carvers chair similar to this (but not nearly in as good of condition as this) sold on "Chairish" site for $1,375. This chair is in EXCELLENT CONDITION despite its age. It's difficult to find a showstopper chair like this with its original cane rush seat in incredible condition with weaving still tight and in tact with no broken or worn areas. The last 2 photos show the cane up close from the underside.
Dimensions: 22.5"W x 33.5"H x 22"D.
I paired this antique treasure with a modern navy blue canvas pillow with silver sequined sewed design of birds and branches with leaves. The pillow cover is removable via a zipper and holds a feather insert which holds its shape well. Pillow and insert only $15.
