This is a Vintage "LH VAUGHAN" Pewter Center-Piece Bowl/Platter w. Bud Vase/Candle Holder Center
If you collect old Pewter, you may want this piece.

This attractive vintage Pewter Platter or Bowl measures 10.25" diameter and has an attached center section that could serve as a candle holder or bud vase.
In very good overall solid condition w. minor faults. Has wear typical of used pewter w. minor scuffs, scratches, nicks and discoloration. No Cracks. Smooth finish. (see photos for details)
The platter is marked at the base with the Vaughan logo and "L. H. Vaughan--Taunton, Mass. Pewter"

LH Vaughan was in business from 1915-1961 (Very little output from 1940-1945 World War II era).

*Lester Howard Vaughan was professionally affiliated with The Society of Arts and Crafts of Boston and was elected Master Craftsman and a life member in 1918.
He had one man shows at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Art Institute of Chicago and the International Trade Center in Cleveland. Long term displays were also given at the Philadelphia Art Alliance and other locations. Winning numerous gold medals for his work at various expositions, he soon began receiving private commissions for his work mostly in pewter, but occasionally in sterling silver and copper.
