About me:
I'm a life-long Chicago-area resident in my 30s with a Lippicott 30 on a slip at DuSable Harbor, a Tartan 34 C at Monroe Harbor, and a 48' yacht at Monroe Harbor.

About me: I grew up on the north side of Chicago. While I sailed sunfishes at camp as a kid, I only became obsessed with sailing a few years after college after befriending a sailor with a boat. I found a great sense of community on that boat - from working as a team at sea to collectively solving problems that naturally come up in sailing and boating. I was hooked.

A few years later I started looking for a boat of my own. I ended up buying a Catalina 27 that was on the hard at Great Lakes Naval Base just south of Waukegan. There were so many unknowns about this boat and the engine was not running, but after a winter of work, I had the engine running and decided to sail her down to Belmont Harbor for the season on a star dock. That first season was full of surprises and stories of meeting new people and learning. At the time I had one goal at the end of the season - to get a slip at DuSable. Well 5 years later here we are. A fleet and community have grown has grown a lot and the club has been born and has been something I have dedicated much of my life to now. (Not sure if that's a good thing but there are many great moments where it does feel so.)

I'm looking for folks that want to get into the boating lifestyle and also have an interest in sailing and want to learn more. There's a lot of work that goes into the community of a boat and I want to help people get into it and learn about boating and maybe even consider boat ownership someday. This is a good entry step for anyone that wants to buy a boat someday. If you never want to own a boat but want to have access to one then this is also for you.

We also have a great holiday party ~ so join today.

Looking for the right fit here so if you're interested in getting involved, drop me a note about yourself, I'll send you more photos, etc., and we'll find a time to talk over the phone / meet up to discuss.

Looking forward to finding great folks looking to our our community and for the adventures ahead!

Happy Sailing!
