These handsome Oxfords have been kept with full-length cedar shoe trees inserted in them (not included) since their original purchase about a year ago, other than while being worn just a very few times. The insides show no signs of wear, still have that wonderful brand-new leather smell, and are very clean! They have been kept in breathable plastic bags, in a smoke-free, pet-free, climate and humidity-controlled area out of sunlight. I paid $169.97 for them.
I am very particular and expect that you may be also similarly particular about your purchases like this one. I try to judge worn shoes objectively; however, everyone's opinion is different. Someone may believe these look new while another may say they can spot a tiny bit of wear on the soles. For that reason, you should judge by the attached photos. It is uncontroverted that these are not brand new/never used and do not belong in a Clarks' museum on a display pedestal behind bullet-proof glass. I estimate that the soles are about 5% worn and have 95% of their lives left.
From an objective standpoint, I wore socks each of the few times I wore these shoes. My foot is thin with normal arch and did not "stretch out" either shoe. In addition, I have no foot odor and am extremely "hygienic" to the point of almost phobic. Actually, I would not buy anyone's used shoes; to me, that is gross, but should illustrate my level of objective cleanliness.
I have a lot of shoes -- too many pairs. I bought these because they are made in Italy, they are absolutely beautifully-crafted, and their color is just stunning. Photos do not do justice; the color is between a brown and a burgundy. These are priced to sell, because I just don't have room for them!
