Antique late 1800s Victorian carved wooden side chair featuring a hand-woven cane seat, turned spindles, and ornate crest rail with etched shield inlay motifs. The original, cane weaving round seat is in perfect condition--a must see considering its age! The rich wood grains and arched back design holding the 3 spindles, along with the 2 front carved turned leg and 2 backside arched legs add such fine craftsmanship to the beautiful cane seat.
Dimensions: 35.5"H x 17.5"W x 20" Depth, seat height 17.5".
This chair sat in a corner at my grandmother's home for many years. To sit on the chair is stable and even, but if you push on the back it is a little wobbly. I did not try to reinforce or restore it in any way.
