"This album, prepared especially for the 1977 WFMT / CHICAGO SYPMPHONY MARATHON II, is unique in that it contains several rare Chicago Symphony recordings no longer available, as well as “…several of the Orchestra's recordings that are being released here for the first time."

This collection includes the CSO's first recorded complete opera, Wagner's "The Flying Dutchman," under the direction of Sir Georg Solti in Medinah Temple (May, 1976). The vinyl is in excellent condition, of course.
