Do you need help with SAT and ACT test prep, whether Math or English? Or do you want to improve your understanding of Literature, History, Philosophy? Do you want to improve your communication ability, whether written or oral? Or do you need help making a strategy and executing a plan to get into the college that fits you? If so, contact me for I can help you or your student with any of these needs. Typically, I focus on liberal arts subjects, including English, AP Lit or Lang, AP World History, AP US History, and certain Math courses. Additionally, I provide consulting for college admissions.
I earned a graduate degree from Harvard University, and I adapt my teaching style to each unique student. Because I lived overseas for five years, I have a specialty helping students who have English as a second language (ESL).
I can help you with the following:
- ENGLISH: English classes,Writing, Grammar, Style
- HISTORY & OTHER LIBERAL ARTS: History, Social Studies, Government, Political Science, etc.
- MATH & SCIENCE: Arithmetic, Fractions, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Physics
- COLLEGE ADMISSION: Consulting for college admissions. If you contact me in 8th grade, we will have time to make the best plan. In general, contact me earlier rather than later.
Individualized Tutoring
Each student is different and I listen carefully so that our sessions are most productive. There is no substitute for one-on-one tutoring.
Short Term or Long Term
Some students have stayed with me their entire high school career. Others need just a bit of help to complete a difficult assignment.
Rates
Individualized tutoring costs $59/hr online or $100/hr in person. For online tutoring I use google docs and a whiteboard program, which works very well.
