condition: good
make / manufacturer: Gibson
model name / number: RD Standard
For sale or trade: Unique, vintage (not reissue) Gibson for sale. This RD Standard dates to 1977, the first year of the model's limited production. It's all original with no modifications, repairs, or replaced parts. The Standard, unlike the Artist and Custom models, did not include the ill-fated Moog active electronics. The Standard has a pair of "tarback" humbuckers, wired like a Les Paul. Aside from the body shape, the interesting detail about the RD is its scale length of 25.5, like most Fender guitars, giving it a different feel than typical Gibson electrics.

Another notable detail about this particular guitar is the color. According to Gibson's records, red was not a color offered on this series. It came in black, natural maple, or sunburst, making this one a custom color. It's not a refinished instrument, as evidenced by looking under the electronics, inside the control cavity, and under the screw holes for signs of a previous color.

Comes with original case with one broken latch, but the case still closes and is sturdy otherwise.

Feel free to reach out with questions.
